This urban yard required some slight of hand to allow for a retreat space which would feel more generous than the lot’s dimensions.
Privacy from the close neighbouring vis a vis was an important element to be addressed. Using a portion of the concrete retaining wall in conjunction with some lighter wood and steel elements give texture as well as program to this yard while allowing backdrop for entertaining, relaxation and play spaces for the children.
